Post-Publication Discussion

Post-Publication Discussion

SJDGGE (Sumatra Journal of Disaster, Geography and Geography Education) recognizes that scientific communication and evaluation do not conclude once an article is published. Post-publication discussion is an essential component of scholarly communication, allowing readers, authors, academics, practitioners, and other members of the scientific community to provide feedback, pose questions, offer academic critiques, or provide clarifications regarding published articles.

SJDGGE (Sumatra Journal of Disaster, Geography and Geography Education) welcomes post-publication discussions that are relevant, constructive, and evidence-based—contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the enhancement of community service initiatives, particularly within the fields of health and related areas that align with the journal’s focus and scope.

Forms of Post-Publication Discussion

  1. Comments or letters to the editor, consisting of academic responses, questions, critiques, or clarifications regarding a published article.
  2. Author responses, which serve as explanations or replies from the author(s) to substantive comments or critiques raised concerning their article.
  3. Methodological and scientific critiques, including discussions on the methods employed, data analysis, interpretation of results, study limitations, and the alignment of conclusions with the reported evidence.
  4. Clarifications or corrections, in the event that factual errors, citation errors, inaccuracies, or other mistakes are identified in a published article.
  5. Input regarding publication integrity, in cases where information or evidence arises that calls into question the reliability of the data, the ethics of the research process, authorship, conflicts of interest, or other aspects of publication integrity.
